From the settlement of Adeje you could contemplate in their day the pirate ships which stalked Tenerife’s cost line. Land of feudal estates, it was in the past covered by vast sugar cane plantations dominated by noble buildings, of these there now only survives the ‘Casa Fuerte’- Strong House. There are many great, old buildings in Adeje that are worth seeing. In the latter many works of art and several Baroque altarpieces can be seen, as well as the beautiful colored paneling.
As you visit Adeje you should go for a nice walk in the Barranco del Infierno, from where you can admire impressive views. It was formed when he ground tore open during he original eruption, and later became deeper when is base was eroded. On the edges of its slopes abound caves and grottoes with the remains of the primitive peoples who inhabited the area. The round walk takes three hours, the path is clearly marked.
In Adeje you can find many restaurants that serve typical Spanish cuisines. Along its coast are several remarkable beaches: El Bobo, La Enramada and El Paraiso. On the towns outer limits is found one for the most noteworthy tourist complexes on the Island: La Playa de Las Americas.
