Barranco del Infierno, Gorge of Hell is the name of the stream, all the way from its source at over 2,000m, down to the sea. You should start your walk in Adeje, where the stream passes through the canyon, the deepest in the Canary Islands.
The round walk takes three-four hours, the path is clearly marked and the walk is not difficult. The distance is 16 km. You should wear sturdy shoes and start your walk as early in the day as possible to avoid crowds and heat. Halfway along the walk there is small rivulet with some amazing reed formations along its banks. At the end of the walk you can admire waterfall, whose three cascades fall into a small natural pool, which can be spectacular at wetter times of the year. That is an excellent place to rest and swim.
You should notice the caves high in the rock face. In many of them Guanche mummies were found. On the path there are some steep sections, but the total altitude gain is only 300m.
To return you have to follow the same path back. While you are again in the town of Adeje you can have a meal in one of the restaurants located here.
