Fasnia is a beautiful small village. There is a small volcano known as the Fasnia Mountain, with two white chapels on top. This volcanic hill is the ideal jumping-off point for paragliding beginners. In Fasnia there are a many agricultural activities.
You should also visit some famous Guanche caves discovered in the Herque gorge in 1770, in which the funeral rites which the Guanche people practiced are revealed. The body deposited in the grotto was subjected to a process of incomplete mummification, which included repeated external washes, and dried, by exposure to the sun. When this process was over the body was honored with offerings, usually personal effects and containers with food for the journey into the beyond, which confirms their belief in a life after death.
You can continue along the high road and will soon cross a barranco with an enormous oval stone on its western side.
