In Icod de los Vinos you can find many buildings in the Canary Island style, blending squares and gardens, such as the L. Carceres Park, where exotic tropical plants grow. Worth visiting is the building of the Town Hall as well as San Marcos parish church, whose construction dates back to the 15th and 16th Centuries. It is dominated by a Renaissance façade and inside is an 18th Century Baroque altarpiece and valuable works of art. The church square provides a view of all kind of different specimens of the island’s flora. You can have a nice walk through Canary pine, palm trees, jacaranda trees and ornamental bananas.
Icod the los Vinos is one of the most visited towns in Tenerife. Many people want to see famous dragon tree, which stands on the western edge of the town and is included in the Icod’s coat of arms. The dragon tree of the Canary Islands is a relic from the Tertiary period.
Close to the town of Icod de los Vinos is Playa de San Marcos. The black lava beach is surrounded by rocks. You can also find there are few restaurants. This beach is a good place for the refreshing swim.
