The resort of Los Gigantes is now overtaken by tourists. The town is a great place for holidays, because it is more peaceful than Las Americas and is different from any other place in Tenerife. It manages to preserve a calm holiday atmosphere that is hard to find in any other place of the Island.
In the town you can find the yachting harbour. Fishing is very popular in Los Gigantes. What is more it is one of the best places for diving in the Island. While visiting Los Gigantes you can try dolphin and whales watch boats. It can be an interesting trip for the whole family and you can get nice suntan while watching dolphins playing in the waters of Atlantic Ocean.
There are also many restaurants and bars in Los Gigantes. Some of them are perfectly situated for a meal at sunset. You can try different bars and café-bars and enjoy nights on the town.
While being in Los Gigantes you can go to Playa de la Arena, which is situated only 1 km away from Puerto de Santiago. It used to be a fishing village and now is visited by many tourists. Swimmers should be aware of the dangerous under currents. There are cliffs in the town, from where you can admire amazing views of La Gomera.
