A fascinating collection of Canary Islands culture you can find in Museo Etnografico de Tenerife, Casa de Carta. This museum is situated in fine restored country mansion and is one of the most beautiful buildings on the island.
This beautiful, white-painted Canarian farmhouse and country mansion were built in the end of the 17th and is one of the prettiest architectural buildings. Faultlessly restored, the building is an exquisite arrangement of carved wooden doors, balconies, porticos and patios. It is situated among tropical gardens in the countryside overlooking the village of Valle de Guerra.
The most interesting exhibits are of Canary Islands traditional dress from the 18th century that show the small but important differences of style and colour between one island and the other. You can admire there festival clothes, wedding clothes and everyday work wear are on show. The weaving and sewing rooms show how these clothes would have been made in those earlier days.
