While you are in Tenerife you can enjoy many tropical fruits. You can buy them in supermarkets, but the places to visit are local markets. They are often located in small villages, but its worth to make an effort and visit one of the agricultural ‘marcados’. Local people sell there fruits and vegetables that they grow themselves.
You can buy there avocados, papayas, pineapples, mangos, melons etc. You can be sure that quality of fruits and vegetables is the best and the prices are low. Those markets are located in San Isidro, Santa Cruz de Tenerife and many other towns and villages. They are especially popular on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
When you have a stroll through one of those markets you be amazed by the colors and variety of the fruits and vegetables.
