Wines from Tenerife are the best in the Canary Islands and are an excellent accompaniment to any meal. The wine from the Island is exported to many countries in Europe. The wines are often a mixture of two or three different grape varieties.
The most popular are wines from Tacoronte-Acentejo and you can find them in many restaurants. In Tacorone-Acentajo district they use traditional growing system in which wines are trailed horizontally along low arbors. The wines are planted in lines. Different wines you can find in the Valle de La Orotava district or Valle de Guimar.
You should know that house wine served in restaurants is not always a local wine, so it’s better to ask for local one. While you are visiting Tenerife its worth to try excellent wines the Island has to offer.
