Carlos a Superb Mixture in a Great Setting
This great up and coming restaurant is run by Joao and his wife who originally come from the lovely area of England called Devon. The restaurant opened in 2006 and since their opening five years ago, Carlos has been a huge success with both residents on the island and visitors who flock to the restaurant to enjoy some of the best food served in the south Tenerife.
The restaurant is very stylish with a wonderfully tasteful décor and great varied menu as well as an exceptionally good service. The location of Carlos is superb too being so close to the very popular Colón beach and under the Club Atlantis. The owner and chef, Joao, is originally from Madeira which means many of his specialities have that wonderful Portuguese flavour to them but this is mixed with a great medley of other tastes including Italian and Far Eastern flavours. This creative dishes are proving to be more than a hit with the loyal diners who eat at the restaurant on a regular basis and there are many of them.
Some of the favourite dishes are recipes like Tagliatelle with Salmon and Prawns as well as the amazing Thai Green Curry Joao creates. Eating at this restaurant is very good value for money and there is something to suit most people's budgets. The wine list is pretty impressive as well especially the rosé wines. There is also a good choice of vegetarian dishes available on the menu so there really is something for everyone.
With delicious options like prawn and beetroot crostini or stuffed peaches filled with chicken and a topping of melted cheese, you can understand just how mouth wateringly good the menu actually is and those are just the starters! Main courses include fabulous rich dishes like espedata de Madeira which is a succulent beef kebab that has that little bit extra which includes garlic butter dripping off the skewer in an appetizing way. The restaurant also offers some of the best steak dishes in town.
The food is marvellous and the setting just as good with a newly refurbished terrace where diners can enjoy a beautifully appointed area with very luxurious and comfortable furniture. All wonderfully designer decorated complete with soft lighting to make dining at Carlos a really memorable experience in so many ways.
Dining at Carlos is truly a great gastronomic experience that does not break the bank. You can have a wonderful meal in a superb setting for between €10 - €20 per person and all served to perfection by some very friendly and warm people who obviously love creating fabulous dishes with flavours from all over the world for their loyal customers.
