Tenerife weather, when best to visit?

Millions of visitors are drawn to the wonderfully sunny island of Tenerife every year because the climate is great, the atmosphere brilliant and there is just so much to do and see there. But when is the best time to visit this favourite holiday hotspot? The answer is that it really does depend on what kind of holiday you are looking for.

Is Tenerife a great place to visit for adventure and outdoor activities and what's the best time of year to visit the island to take full advantage of these?

Tenerife really does have it all when it comes to outdoor activities and adventure holidays. Whether it is water sports, trekking, mountaineering, canoeing, scuba diving or just leisurely snorkeling in the super waters around the island, there is something for everyone. The best time to visit Tenerife to really enjoy all the outdoor activities is during the winter months. This is the high season and the weather is milder but still great. Definitely a time for shorts and T shirts but in the evenings you will need a sweater.

I would like to spend a quiet time relaxing in the sunshine soaking up the atmosphere of the place, when is the best to go to Tenerife?

Spring time on the island is a quieter time of the year but the weather is lovely and warm with the days long and sunny and the nights pleasantly warm. It is a great time to visit the island because many of the traditional festivals take place during these months, so if you want to see Tenerife at it's most traditional and have a quieter time soaking up the superb atmosphere of the place, then this is a great time to visit the island.

I really want to get onto a beach and enjoy the sunshine and sea, but I want to avoid the crowds - so when is the best time to visit Tenerife?

If you're looking for sunshine, sand and sea but a quieter Tenerife, then the best time to visit the island is during the summer months and another advantage of going at this time of the year is that hotel prices tend to be a lot cheaper. However, flights to the island can be more expensive. One thing you'll find is the whole atmosphere is a lot more cosmopolitan, although the visitor numbers are far less than during the winter months.
