Post subject: schools update... |
|
|
Well, we now have the girls registered at 2 different schools (because of their ages) and they both start tomorrow.
As it's been mentioned in the past, these details are correct for these 2 schools - check with your school.
So, first with Robyn. As she's 10, she will be going to the local primary school at Los Abrigos (same class as Stripp's daughter). I went a month ago and put her name down and came away with a list of documents needed. It's fortunate theat I did because today there were 3 more names and only 1 place left:-
All are photocopies of the original -
birth certificate
child's passport
parent's NIE (we only have mine and that was OK but they took a photocopy of Judith's passport)
work contract
confirmation of private medical insurance or Spanish Social Security number (I have a Social number)
official proof of address ( I have an apadronamiento )
4 passport photos of child
vaccination record
They have a basic medical questionnaire and a form to allow official photos and video and these were in English. The actual registration form was filled in by the secretary and we only had to sign it.
There is a new high school (instituto) at El Medano which Shannon will be going to.
Docs needed (again photocopies) :-
NIE of parents and child (they have let us register with only my NIE but we need to take the others in asap)
passport of child
Social Security number
proof of address (water, electric, telephone bill etc. - they accepted the apadronamiento for this)
4 passport photos of child
copy of last school report from previous school
vaccination record
receipt from the bank for €10,87 - not sure exactly what this was for
Again a medical history form and we had to fill in the registration form ourselves. It's not a complex form and you will have come across most of the fields with your NIE and Social Security application.
We had an additional form for the free bus pass.
And that was it. Fairly straightforward with only a basic grasp of Spanish.
Both girls are excited about the schools and as they only arrived here last Monday, only had an extra week of freedom

Great to hear you have all arrived OK and safe, how is the doggie ??
Even though we have now lived here getting on for three years still revel in the sound of the sea when I wake up in the morning, especially when it is really rough. God life can be so hard can't it lol lol |
