at 400 E a month you'll only get a studio in the grottiest apartment blocks...if you're lucky. _________________ .

Hmmmm - know that - but like to shop around. Looking for long term - not a holiday !
| Quote: | | If you want a 1 bedroom apartment in Los Cristianos you are looking at more like 550/600€. |
No I'm not - outside would be far more preferable, car so transport isn't an issue and I'm not working in town anyway.
Also looking for something to buy (pref with land and WELL out of town, 100k or less would be good but I'll have to wait and see. I'm not there for a beach bar life - I'm a very self contained open space type.
So, although I appreciate the comments, practical advice would be good - otherwise it's a cave-house over here on the mainland for me! |

Practical advice? We've given it often. Book a cheap package holiday for two weeks and come and search for yourself. Several of us have fallen into the trap of spending our time chasing around looking for/at apartments for forum members wanting cheap accommodation in Tenerife, only to be let down by the searchers. A waste of time and money for us.
A house and land for less than 100,000? Perhaps in the mountains in the north west of the island. Most property in your price range will need major refurbishment to bring it up to standard. Do a search here http://www.sun4free.com/property/ _________________ .

You state that you want it within 3 to 4 miles of the centre of Los Cristianos....This will mean that it's going to be in Los Cristiano or Las Americas. If you look at our map section you'll see that most of the area around these towns is empty. _________________ .

OK - already done that as I said in my original post (but mine is 31 days ) - now need to find somewhere by mid to end of December, but I'm arriving end of November and already have accomodation for a few weeks. Needless to say, my free time (whilst not working) will be spent looking at the options! But I'm sure there is no harm in asking the question is there??? |

Of course there's no harm in asking and you didn't say that you had accommodation booked. Apologies for preaching to the converted. _________________ .

There are two areas within approx. 5km from Los Cristianos and those are Guaza (you may find a much cheaper apartment there) and Chayofa but it is likely to be more expensive there.
I would also like a house with land for under 100k. If you find one and you don't want it, let me know!! I have been looking at 3 bedroom houses with a small garden (approx 200-500m²) and prices have been from about 180,000€ (and that is way out of town). I am not saying there aren't any cheaper but I haven't found any _________________ Who am I? Find out more here: http://www.myspacetenerife.com/index.php?page=view_profile&id=17
I will make this day a happy one for I alone can determine what kind of day it will be. |

I think you need a better 'profession' if you can only afford 400 a month for rent at your age!!
How about a timeshare tent in Rob's garden? _________________ My Paranoia-Management Therapy is going great! Now they're only watching me half the time.... |
