Can anyone reccomend a good restaurant that is serving traditional Christmas dinner (turkey etc) on Christmas Day? Not going back to uk this year for christmas, but still want my turkey!!! Any suggestions would be great. Cheers |

Well we had a similar idea. we looked around and phoned places up and even spoke to people who had done it before.
After all this we decided that we would not do it and we are now having a fabulous picnic on the beach with some friends.
We found that the prices that were being charged for xmas luch were very very high ...for the same food that you would normally get charge 8.95 for. They add a soup and that must cost the other 35..40 euros.
I was also told by some friends who had spent out on this, that actually they would never ever do it again..!!!!
BUT...if you have a look through the canarian weekly this week there are places advertised. GET in quick..places are being taken up.....I hope it is nice for you ...maybe you can report back _________________ Find out more at www.myspacetenerife.com

Agree with Stripps, Christmas Dinner's here can be a bit of a rip off. Not that we have eaten out on Christmas Day but have heard some rotten stories.
Iceland do a Turkey Crown if you are cooking indoors and want the traditional dinner.
We have friends again this year and we always do the full traditional meal, apart from me who does not have the turkey and meats (have my quorn roast) but still love it all.
Difference is after the meal is over a nice long walk on the beach makes it that bit special.
ENJOY |

| We had Turkey Crown from Iceland for Xmas dinner on Wednesday just gone and it was excellent, fed 7 of us with plenty left over no idea what it cost. I was looking around at Xmas dinner prices whilst there and it ranged from 25 Euros to 75 Euros. Bit pricey I suppose but 25 Euros isnt too bad !! |

I can remember taking an aunt for a traditional dinner on Christmas Day at The Devils Dyke Hotel, Brighton many years ago and the cost then was £35 per head. It was at least ten years ago as she has been departed from this world for that time.
Is this too expensive at 30.50 euros?
Christmas Day Menu:
Half bottle of red or white wine per person.
Prawn Cocktail
Traditional Christmas Dinner: Roast Turkey breast, chipolata sausages. Yorkshire pudding, home made stuffing, roast potatoes and three (fresh) vegetables.
Christmas pudding with cream and custard.
Coffee and wafer thin mints.
There is a choice of starters and desserts. Above is our choice. _________________ Don't follow the 'MySpaceTenerife' link under my avatar because you will learn nothing about me.

I wouldn't want to go out to a restaurant for any meal when the restaurant is packed and food/service is not likely to be at its best BUT for all those who chose to do so....The staff and owners are working on traditional holidays and are entitled to expect triple pay or similar. 30 Euros or £20 is not expensive. _________________ .

That is the way I feel Rob.
This particular place in Puerto always serves up good tasty food. We often have a Sunday roast there. For anybody staying at the Apartamentos Casablanca or near to Hotel El Tope this establishment is in your locality. _________________ Don't follow the 'MySpaceTenerife' link under my avatar because you will learn nothing about me.

Where are you staying Richard? Are you looking for Christmas Dinner or supermarkets that are open? You will be okay with both, but let me know where you are staying and I will be able to direct to your nearest.
PS. I'm pleased to report that I'm back on line now Rob. _________________ Don't follow the 'MySpaceTenerife' link under my avatar because you will learn nothing about me.
