El faro, the relatively new 'cool' night spot is advertising Sunday entertainment of 'The swing cats' a jazz quintet. We went along to see what it was like and found amplified 'in your face' Jazz music that obliterated all other sound. Just what we were looking for There was a fair audience but once the band stopped playing it was obvious that the 'audience' was friends and family as very quickly we were the only two left in the place. It's reputed to have cost some 2.3,000,000 Euros to get this place off the ground..... I'm glad it's not my money invested!

I heard that the roof terrace of El Faro's was bowed, its caving in because it wasn't ment to have a bar on the top of it? Anyone know if thats true?

Another Tenerife rumour I fear. I can't imagine that a few bar fittings and some people is going to affect a reinforced concrete roof.

I went to El Faro the once (for a worker of my kind it was too expensive lol) and its a most for anyone visiting the island its lush and sitting on the roof looking out to the sea with the ever changing 'lighthouse' is simply calming
