I wasn't sure if Satnav even worked over here. I used to have a TOMTOM in the UK, and apparently there were Canary Island maps available, but no-one could give me a straight answer. Either way, I haven't seen a single shop anywhere on the island selling satnavs?

Where did you buy yours Heazille? And has anyone on here bought one whilst in Tenerife? Tell all...... Wink

I have seen accessory type 'add ons' in cars so someone must be selling them.

Most of the ´Camera´shops seem to be selling sat nav systems.

Otherwise there is the good old internet!

I have a Garmin Zumo 550i (designed for motorbikes, but comes with car fittings) which works very well over here and is good for both bikes & cars

Thanks Richard, I shall go put on my bulletproof Indian-haggling hat and head off down to the tourist warzone. I'm sure I'll get a 'velly good price' because they 'like my face'.... Laughing

Saturn have just opened in the North. At least you should get after sales service with them.

Hiya heazille/richard

Hope you have recovered from your road trip. The roads are fab for bikes!!!

Hope you settle in well and we get to meet you at some point

Satnavs.... we brought ours with us but use Tom Tom and downloaded all the maps needed for the road trip over and while we were here.... comes in very handy

Happy Haggling Funky!!

Welcome Heazille,

I had to sell my Ducati ST2 to buy a wee car before driving over - the car supposedly carries more luggage but it's a Peugeot 106 Laughing
That was in September, so no worries about snow across the plains in Spain where it didn't even rain.

Anyway, our sat-nav is installed on a PDA so it can also be used for useful things like watching movies and playing games. So if anybody wants some Canary Island maps for TomTom...

Sam.

Maybe we should get some rules written for forum...do not type when under the influence or at least state that you are so people don't even try to decipher the code!
