Post subject: car probs !!!!!! |

never rains but it pours....... after my recent PC probs and getting that sorted, tonight while driving home along a busy motorway from Glasgow to where i live which is about 25 miles, I noticed all sorts of warning lights coming on in my car......... first the ABS light, then the battery light, then the seatbelt light then the control indicator light..... arrrgh. then I noticed my rev counter and speedo packed in, then a few miles further on they started working again......... I wasnt sure if I should pull into the hard shoulder or keep going, as it was pouring of rain I opted for the second option.....
I was intending on taking a half day from work tomorrow afternoon but had things to see to at work in the morning...... Iv had to call my boss tonight, let him know about my car probs, and tell him I'll have to take a full day off tomorrow so I can get my car to the garage to see whats wrong with it........
luckily for me my sister works for Verve and I get my car repairs done for cost price..... phew....... so shes having to call her branch in the town where I live, and arrange for me to take it in there, I have to admit I am a bit apprehensive about driving it as my stearing felt a bit light tonight when I was driving home, ( similar to driving over an ice or oil patch ) not that I think any of you living in the sun will remember what its like to drive over icy patches.........I crawled home in the inside lane at 30mph, I can just imagine what other drivers thought while overtaking me..........
I only hope whatever it needs done to fix it will be done quickly..... at least i know one thing as it'll be booked in as a staff car, I wont be ripped off by the garage......
I also hope its not serious, shouldnt think so as its only 3 years old and not done tooooo much milage...
I'll keep you posted....... _________________ im back in Tenerife soon........ yepeeeeeeeee |

Update,
went to my sisters work today they couldnt help as I had to take my car to a vauxhall dealer for a diagnostics test...... cost £70 + vat.... had to leave the car there for a few hours, 5 to be exact, before they called me back.....
They called me back and told me that I was fortunate that the diagnostics test had found a problem that vauxhall have recalled cars for this was causing the problems for me, I'd not have to pay for anything, so carhire until Tuesday, test and repair done for free....... Great news for me......
only thing is I drive a corsa, its just past 3 years old........ what do they give me for a hire car....... a brand new corsa with only 8 miles on the clock........... NOW I want a new one !!!!!
method in there madness dont you think ????? lol _________________ im back in Tenerife soon........ yepeeeeeeeee |

Definately sneaky loaning you the new car.
Pleased it has been sorted out without costing you though,
what with your computer problems and the car you have not had good run, but all has worked out fine in the end. Great news! _________________ Growing old is mandatory. Growing up is optional. |

Astra Estate 1.6 I am governed by my leg, 1. for the length of the seat, 2, how far the seat will go back, I find a smaller car the seat cuts into the tender part of my leg and makes it uncomfortable to drive,... must admit I have had no bother from the Astra, both Jonathan and Victoria have had a corsa and were very happy with them, _________________ Failures don't plan to fail, they fail to plan
