| I don't speak spanish and I wonder if the bus drivers speak english. Do you know if it's easy and cheap to travel by bus? I live in las Americas so how much I will have to pay to get to Los Christianos? |

Well I think it's guite difficult to travel by bus here in Tenerife. The buses are usually late and bus drivers are impolite |

Well it's ok to travel by bus when you don't have a car you can get use to it. But they are often late so you have to have extra time everytime you use the bus |

I wouldn't be without a regular BONO bus ticket which for 12 Euros gives you a lot of journeys and excellent value! It's only a few Euros with one of these to travel from the south all the way up to Santa Cruz in the north. It is costing me 75 cents from Las Galletas to Los Cristianos as a sample fare.
As for the lateness of some of the buses this isn't the drivers fault but is due to traffic jams that develop at busy times of day. Like the UK there are too many cars here.
Personally I think the Tenerife buses are far better than British ones and the views out of the windows are really good!
It is true that most drivers mainly speak in Spanish but you don't need to know much to board a bus successfully witha BONO pass. All you need to do is state your destination, add "por favor" and insert your card in the machine. The driver then deducts the fare and your pass is returned showing how much you have left. These BONO tickets are on sale at many shops and at main bus stations.

Walking does not require translation and is cheaper than the bus. Las Americas is next door to LC. Most days here are sunny so I wouldnt bother with a brolly either.
Donmt thank me.... Your welcome |
