No, it didn't. Technical problems with the wave machine and a few other things. All good things come to those that wait! _________________ .

Typical canarian attitude towards business. Out of 30 or so rides and attractions, two have technical problems. So instead of opening the park and earning hundreds of thousands of Euros more each week, no, lets keep the whole thing shut until we sort out every minor detail. Disneyland Paris opened on time, even though a few of the rides were still being finalised.
Now its almost middle of May and apparently they're still not ready to open yet. Some bright spark has probably discovered that one of the bog-roll dispensers in the gents loo isn't working properly.
They had a big party up there the other night with V.I.Ps and fireworks etc. Strangely, my invitation must have got lost in the mail.

Well, either they can afford to loose money for 2 years (meaning the entrance fee is way over-priced and they'll break even soon), or a whole lot more than just 2 rides have technical problems, butthey don't want to scare tourists...
Is it private funds or corporate? What kind of board of directors would let the delay last 2 YEARS?!!? unless profit will flow fast, and tickets are, indeed, overpriced... Disneyland opened on time, but they changed the management, and waited to break even... |

Unfortunately its not as simple as that. It's a private company. It's a huge project on a small Island with limited resources, machinery etc. plus of course there is the Manana syndrome.
These delays hit many major projects Wembly stadium and The millenium dome both come to mind! _________________ .

Whaou!! Did those happen on a small Island with limited resources?
It obviously is a huge project. Then it is poor planning... |

Rob you took the words out of my mouth
So Shrimp give us the rundown, cost, value for money, don't need to know about the staff you have already said. _________________ Failures don't plan to fail, they fail to plan

Sawasdee River: too slow for me; I had to hand-paddle to go forward. Top rapids not completed.
Beach and wave pool: real sand, nice waves (not too big yet)
Lost City: not tested
Jungle Snake: when you come up the stairs, the first on your right: open tube, really cool and fun alone or with partner. Second on your right: fast and completely dark, all the way. Third: not tried it. Fourth, strait ahead when you go up: half dark, half open, clearly the fastest
Volcano: didn't try
Dragon: clearly the scariest for me: share fall-down, high speed, high bounce: real fun!
Giant: feels like a bassin drain, even better when you re-enter backwards...
Naga Racer: best with good friends. I recommend you start with this one your day at the park. It is the only one where you can control your speed, and great fun!
Mekong Rapids: didn't try
Tower of Power: scary view over the whole park and coast. 25m down in less than 5 sec.!! if you wear short, guys, water will be trapped into the legs, and, as you go faster, kick you butt! Mine is still sour... But it's a must!!
You need to be healthy to climb back after each ride. And sun cream!
19EUR for day pass, but in 2-3h you've seen it all... unless you stay on the sandy beach.

no, not really.
Well, of course the beach and wave pool. Sawasdee River if they can swim, Jungle Snake and Naga Racer for 7-8+
The rest was 10+
Maybe Lost city, once it runs... |
