 Post subject: Tenerife Sun is back but I'm not in it (yet) |

The Tenerife Sun has been brought back in the hands of a new owner and editor and the new office is in Adeje. Unfortunately for me I have not been included again as yet. Roger the former editor has passed on a recommendation that I get my column back and the new owner Paul Knight has mailed me yesterday to say he is not sure yet what he is doing about all the articles that Roger normally ran. So perhaps I will get my column back - I hope so!

Whenever a newspaper changes hands and then immediately tries to make sweeping changes, its usually the beginning of the end for it. It should be interesting to see what happens in this instance.
I'm sure you will get your column back Bard. If not, we can all write in and demand that you be reinstated. And besides, what on earth could they come up with to replace you? Mystic Meg's Psychic Guide?

So far I have been replaced by an advertising feature for Furniture IDEA, which I shouldn't think readers would prefer to my travels, nature walks and colour photos!

Seriously, that is quite often the case.
I'm concerned about this for two reasons:-
1:- Bard needs to stay employed because he lets us know about things we would never ever consider or read/know about.
2:- A very good friend of mine works for the paper. |

There are many things I would love people to know about but they wouldn't get published in the papers here or anywhere - I was very lucky to get my chemtrails article printed in Tenerife News! Papers only print what they are allowed to.
I hope your friend has been luckier than I - I know I was not alone in losing out: eg Rosie Barham's regular column has gone too!

I agree Bard.
I know these papers make their money from the advertising but we want some interesting articles in them.

I've always enjoyed reading Bard's articles in the paper and the wonderful photos regularly posted on this forum.
It would be a shame if they didn't continue the articles. Living in the south, one could easily drift through life without realising all the wonders that exist just a few kilometres away. Keep up the good work Bard.
