Hi Zappa, thanks for the info above, we will look into it. The situation has scared me a bit, I was going to book my car hire on line (for when we go on hols), from a Tenerife company, as its loads cheaper than booking it through our travel agent, but I dont know if I want to take the chance now, but if we do what you suggested I guess it should be safe!
Thanks again!

No problem, glad to help out...
You may be able to help me as I too am looking to book a car for my trip in November.
Do you have the link to hand as the Travel Agents prices are not competitive to say the least.
Regards

Hi Zappa, it was a company from on here, Karibe. They are reccomended on here, I phoned them today and the quoted 280 euros for two weeks, They are based in Costa Del Silencio, but will meet you at the airport with your car. I was quoted £300 from first choice, so quite a difference when you work it out. To be honest I think there are even better deals than Karibe, online - ebookers, seem to be cheap, but I cant post a link as I am totally incompetent, on computers typing is about my limit. :lol
We were quoted £180 from one online company but we cant remember who it was!! If I find them again I will e mail you!
Hope you are getting on ok with all the organising for your move!!

You may be able to save a few Euros over Karibe but Karibe send a driver to meet you personally. Some companies claim the same but they send a minibus for several clients and you kick your heels for ages waiting for all the clients to complete their paperwork. _________________ .

Thanks for that Rob, not really up on booking cars abroad as we never usually drive on hols, so not sure of the best route, but it would be worth the extra euros to get better service, especially as we are arriving at night. Do you know if we can get sat nav with Karibe ,as we are planning on doing quite a bit of driving?
Thanks again

Sat Nav? I've never heard of it in hire cars here, especially if you're hiring the cheapest possible. A map is enough, Tenerife is not that big. _________________ .

Oh well Rob, I guess that means I'll be reading the map while shiel does the driving, I can see a few domestics coming on!! I drive all over Scotland here, and sat nav is a life saver, i'd probably be late for half my gigs without it, as I have no sense of direction.....saying that I managed by for years without it! Its funny how you get used to things and suddenly cant live without them, like mobile phones!!
Thanks for the reply! (Forewarned is forearmed)!!

Thanks for the info Helena & Rob
I like the sound of Karibe having the driver meet you at the airport..
Could do with him taking me to the Hotel first

Hi,
I went into my hotmail a few days ago to find a email from Pay Pal saying that i agreed a payment for 115 euros to Skype i had`nt it was unauthorised!
Tried to log into Pay Pal but my password would not work. So had to change it and answer security questions. Done this got in and had to change password etc.
Then went to the resolution centre and got it investigated by Pay Pal. Got a email today saying they have finished reviewing unauthrised activity and i will receive a complete refund in the next 5 working days.
Pay Pal were very quick to sort this but i dont know how someone did this how did they change my password?
I was the only 1 who knew it and im allways careful when i log in and go to the correct page. |

Did you use a password that was easy to guess? Many people use something very familiar to them to make it easy to remember but often this makes it easy to guess. You should try to use a mixture of upper/lower case and numbers or signs.
Worse still could be that someone has put a 'reader' or other spyware onto your pc and has captured your details. Have you done a spyware check lately? _________________ .

Reading the posts on this thread reminded me that I had been asked to change my password on 'Photobucket' because of an update to the sight. I am now wondering if that was genuine although I can't fathom how hacking in to that account would help anybody with evil intent.
Has anybody else been asked to change their password on 'Photobucket?' _________________ Don't follow the 'MySpaceTenerife' link under my avatar because you will learn nothing about me.
