Hi everyone
Just a quick intro of myself,
My name is Kim (3 I am married to Roy (45).We live in Manchester both working ( I am the uk distribution supervisor in a large warehouse and Roy is a training officer (fork lift trucks) for a local company. But we have now decided that we are ready to make the move we have been talking about for a few years. We don't want the partying every night side of it (bit old for that  ) just the slower pace
When we sell up here we are going to buy somewhere to live outright so hopefully we won't have to work as many hours per week ( 40-70 hrs each) I hope anyway!!!!! |

Hello and welcome ! We used to live in Manchester !! Live in Burnley now. Good luck with your move, there are some reasonable priced apartments out there at the moment, I saw one or 65k in Amarilla Golf..... x

Hi and a big big welcome, we were the same as you we have now been living here for 3 years and absolutely love it. Do some work here and there but semi - retired, (we are no spring chickens lol lol) You will find lots if info and some really nice people here, keep in touch and let us know how you are getting one, or any questions I am sure there will be someone who can help.

Hi and welcome Kim and Roy, we are quite new to this forum aswell, we just joined about 6 weeks ago, and we have found out everything we had been trying to find out ourselves, if you need to know anything.....ask. Jenny and Stripps are especially fab, and go out of their way to find stuff out for you if they dont already know!!
We are moving over next July...cant wait!! We are not as well set up, unfortunately, we will have a decent deposit but will need a mortgage, a bit scary with the credit crunch here, no one seems to be getting a mortgage, I imagine it will be diferent getting a spanish mortgage though, and the credit crunch in the Uk is probably making the properties abroad a bit cheaper.
Anyway ggod luck with your move!

Hi Guys
Thanks for the warm welcome!! No doubt we will need to call on your expertise at some point along the way as it is a bit daunting uprooting and going to a different country were you only know 2 people
It's a bit worring at the mo with the state of the housing market here we really need to make a good profit from selling or we are going to end up with a mortgage or buying a smaller place. We have set our target for leaving here next May/June so hopefully things might improve by then.
You would think we were leaving tomorrow with Roy running round throwing everything away, all I can hear is "are we taking this" when I say no it's in the bin !!!

No I think Rob was meaning its a plus....as when most people come out here to live they only know the people they fly over with lol...

Yes, you're right strips, that is what I meant. It should make things far easier for you knowing people who already live here.
