Post subject: Species and export law question |
|
|
Hi, The Wife told me today that she's booked us a holiday in November so I was wondering if anyone here would be able to tell me which (if any) species of tarantula/ scorpion/ beetle are over there.
I have quite a large collection of spiders (300'ish) and wild caught animals are a boost now and again to breeding stock. Usually males can be found wandering about waiting to mate or die.
Also, does anyone have an idea on the export laws there- if I find a male spider would I legaly be able to bring him back?
Cheers folks.

Hi Mark and welcome to the forum.
No idea but let me know which plane you'll be going back on so I can ensure I am not on it _________________ Who am I? Find out more here: http://www.myspacetenerife.com/index.php?page=view_profile&id=17

Hi and welcome to our forum. I'm sure that there must be uk government sites from which to obtain this info. _________________ .

Cheers for that, looking good. The Sandbag (Wife A.K.A. Deb) isn't very happy now cause I've just told her that at least one day is gonna be spent rooting for grubs, beetles and spiders.
Thanks again.

I think that if I was your 'Sandbag' I'd politely tell you to go and hunt grubs while I spent my time elsewhere! _________________ .

I couldn't think of doing anything worse...... pet spiders??? Do all 300 live in your house? Are they alive ? What do you do with them all? I don't understand what is enjoyable with them, dogs do tricks, love and kiss you, even lizard things can be cute ish but spiders ???? Sorry... but I would love to understand ? Hope your not offended by my curiosity Lea x _________________ www.secretgardenholistics.com

Not at all.
I personally cant be bothered with dogs n cats n things like that. Dont mind dogs but dont think I'd have another.
Spiders are a lot more fascinating actually as they are basically a wild animal so if you get the conditions right you get to see them behaving how they would- to some extent- in the wild. A domesticated animal is more like a companion.
We have a spare room I call "The Spider Room" and all my tropical animals are in there. |

I'm shuddering at the thought I wouldn't be able to sleep at night, I would be making someone check, double, check again that all the lids were definately on !!! don't they just walk around looking like scarey things with eight legs ? How do they act? I've trained my dog to catch them in my house and eat them... lol Sorry .. I stand on the sofa screaming and she comes to the rescue.lol _________________ www.secretgardenholistics.com

Peloquin - you will have to let us see some photos of your "lovely" pets!! Does your wife like them? _________________ Who am I? Find out more here: http://www.myspacetenerife.com/index.php?page=view_profile&id=17

You can post a picture without any problem but you can't post a link to your picture on another site. You'll need to post them on photobucket or a similar site then post the code on here. _________________ .
