Some charming toerags (that is me being nice) have broken into one of our cabins and done off with approx £1,500 of gear,
So I have had to take a day off work to wait for the police.......it is by appointment now so they are comming at 2.00pm
I am trying to be very calm, the kettle has never been off I have drank that much coffee
Can't even get intouch with the insurance as I need a crime number

a young constable arrived just befor 2pm took my statement said she would ring me with the crime number and made a call for SOCO to come, they came at 4.45pm dusted a few things but could not get any prints.

I had to ring the police this morning to get the crime number so I can contact the insurance

Sorry to hear about that Margaret - they are truly the scum of the earth!!
you may remember I posted about catching someone breaking in to my house a couple of months back, since then half of the houses in my estate have been either broken into or had an attempted, no one can sleep for worrying, its a new build estate, and to get a burglar alarm from perssimmon was extortionate, so hardly anyone bothered getting one, now everyone is scurrying off to B&Q for an alarm, my next door neighbour even went as far as to have cctv installed because her hubby works away and she is petrified!
On another note, we returned home from Tenerife on wednesday morning at 4am, only to find our car (and 4 others), had been broken into, in the car park of the Brittannia Country House Hotel in Manchester. The passenger window had been smashed, there was glass everywhere, the seats were sodden wet, and the contets of my glove box was all over the car, they had stolen my sat nav, but that was all.
The hotel apparently are not responsible for what happens to your car in their car park, despite the fact that they advertise online as airport parking and charge you for the service!!
We had to wait untill 1.30 pm before autoglass came to repair it and then drive back to glasgow, our flight had been delayed so by the time we arrived home at 5pm we had been awake for 33 hours!! - still shattered today.
Incidentally, the guy from autoglass told us he is there almost everyday reapiring glass from break ins so I am going to contact their head office about it, my car would have been as safe out on the street, so I at least want a refund for the parking, never mind the cost of my sat nav and the £60 excess I had to pay to get the glass fixed!
Sorry Margaret I came on to sympathise and have ended up ranting myself, I hope you get your insurance claim sorted asap!
