Hi I did SEARCH but it came up with NIE and residencia.
can you tell me how I apply for this card as going back to the uk for a week in october and thought i better have it, I live here and have done since jan i live in los cristianos.
I saw a write up in the canarian weekly about it but I forgot to keep it and it said what you had to do.
Can I access healthcare in the UK like getting free contaception as its expensive out here, I do have a UK address my mums. or is the card just for emergency treatment.
thanks

Hi Louisa. Glad to hear you are still around. So you moved to Los Cristianos? Was Silencio too quiet for you? Or was is just more convenient for work? How are you getting on?
Regarding the Tarjeta Sanitaria Europea (or EHIC) I did a search and couldn't find the information either! You can get the card from the Seguridad Social in Granadilla, or at least that's where I got mine from. If you are in Los Cristianos you might prefer to try the office there first, just in case it's changed now as it would save you the trip to Granadilla! I can't remember what was needed but imagine you would just need your social security number and NIE/Residencia and passport.
If you get it, please come back and tell us what you took and where you had to go.
I guess the card is just for emergencies. _________________ Who am I? Find out more here: http://www.myspacetenerife.com/index.php?page=view_profile&id=17

I would be grateful Louisa if you came back and reported what you did to change your address on your residentia. Ours show an address we had three years ago, and we have moved three times since then. _________________ Don't follow the 'MySpaceTenerife' link under my avatar because you will learn nothing about me.

Not sure about the need to change the address on the residencia certificate. I didn't change mine on my previous card and although I was stopped by the police and told them that I had changed addresses, they didn't seem bothered.
Pregnancy is going fine, apart from feeling soooo tired (probably due to getting up about 10 times in the night to go to the loo!!)
I am happy to hear that life is treating you well and you've got yourself a boyfriend. Is he Spanish? _________________ Who am I? Find out more here: http://www.myspacetenerife.com/index.php?page=view_profile&id=17
