Anyone up for forum Xmas dinner this year?

Same format as previous years, we all dress in our finery, no jeans or shorts allowed?

Any suggestions for a venue, quality food and small enough for twenty or so people to virtually take over the place?

Provisionally we're looking at Restaurant Carlos ( upmarket, Portuguese chef with an English wife) just near my house. I'm going on a fact finding mission tonight to try the food.

Program as 2006 (no minibus but I have a driver in mind if anyone wants to save on taxi fares).

Champers at my house followed by the meal with wine and then after dinner drinks at mine.

Menu, something like....

Choice of, fresh vegetable soup, garlic bread with cheese and tomatoes or garlic mussels or stuffed peaches.

Strips of tender beef in Madeira wine, a fish dish, a chicken dish and a veggy option.

Ice cream, creme caramel or something else.

half a bottle of wine per head, water.

Trying to keep the price to 30 euros per head but it may creep just over if we want a decent dessert

Tenerife solicitors have volunteered the pre dinner Moet and I'll do the after dinner drinks.

Looking at 6th Dec. to include Lisa R or the following week if she's not coming.

Dress, ladies...the works, gentlemen.... smart casual (no jeans or shorts) Any men object to DJs or suits?

Rob, this all sounds really good to me and i will definatley make any date you decide on as long as i am still there!

I brought a new sat nav over the weekend as my old one kept falling off the windscreen and it covers Tenerife so, if it works as well as the shop says, give me an adress and i will be there with bells on and in good time Very Happy

And stuffed peaches - wow, i have not heard of that before... i might have to give that a go me thinks!

Anyway, keep me posted and maybe if i can IM you my phone number Rob we can stay in touch when i am there and you can keep me informed on the definate arrangments as i will be there from the 23rd of this month.

I hope to meet some of you very soon then ... it will be lovely.

I will be staying with my friend in i think Las Chifiras or Abrigos but i am pretty sure it is Chifiras.

Is that miles away from where you are looking to go?
If it is too far to get a taxi or a lift i will be happy to drive - no problema.
