Post subject: AIRPORT TAXI FARES - THE FACTS !!! |
|
|
Ok, after reading much speculation and differing opinion about taxi fares from TFS airport, here's the latest up to date price structures plus taxi fare estimates to the popular destinations (pilfered from the information desk at the airport last week, I almost felt guilty as it was the poor girl's only copy)
Please note that these are the prices for taxis registered in GRANADILLA and hence licenced to wait at the airport. The price from a resort TO the airport may therefore differ.
The only price it doesn't have is the suitcase supplement:
Tariff 3 (km) - Day=0.90E Night=1.10E
Tariff 2 (km) - Day=0.45E Night=0.55E
Waiting (per hour) Day=12.14E Night=12.14E
Airport Supplement: 1.65E
Estimated fares DAY NIGHT
Adeje - 20km - 19.65 23.65
Amarilla Golf - 12km - 12.45 14.85
Callao Salvaje - 29km - 27.75 33.55
Chayofa - 19km - 18.75 22.65
El Medano - 9km - 9.75 11.55
Palm Mar - 18km - 17.85 21.45
Golf Del Sur - 12km - 12.45 14.85
Granadilla - 12km - 12.45 14.85
Los Cristianos - 18km - 17.85 21.45
Los Gigantes - 46km - 43.05 52.25
Playa Paraiso - 29km - 27.75 33.55
Hope that clears up the confusion! Don't get ripped off people. Remember, if he tries it on, poke the taxi driver in the eye and say "I think not, you charlatan"... _________________ My Paranoia-Management Therapy is going great! Now they're only watching me half the time.... |

Recently I have seen a couple of Taxis around Callao that hold 7 passengers ( like a small minibus). I have only seen them in Adeje area though and not at the airport. Maybe more of these are going to be introduced?
Not really much help to you but just out of interest. |

..when we arrived in jan, there were quite a few taxi men holding boards up with mini-bus signs on, and were quite happy to take from 4 people..... |

Well spotted Dave. Rob and I saw one of the minibus taxis in Adeje Town the other night. I certainly expect that they're licenced to carry more than 5. _________________ My Paranoia-Management Therapy is going great! Now they're only watching me half the time.... |

For a number of years country areas have been allowed to use minibuses or 7 seater jeeps as taxis but I don't think there are any at the airport. _________________ .

| When we come across we use Via Express (found on this web site) they are cheaper than the taxi and the more in your group the better they use either mini busses or a 25 seater coach It may take 10 - 15 mins longer than a taxi but the drivers son't drive like maniacs like some of the taxi drivers |
