HI Gregg,
I am a DJ here in the UK and I am looking for for some work in Tenerife this year. I play R n B Hip Hop. I have been playing in The UK For 2 years now. My brother also wants to come and work in Tenerife and has been a Bar Manger in UK for various venues for over 6 yearsnow and he is fully qualified. I also may have another friend that may be able to be your PR as he has great experience in UK.
Please let me know what your rates of pay are for all these jobs and if you can provide us with accomodation and how long employment is for, as we are eager to come out a.s.a.p.
Many Thanks,
Ali |

Just back from Tenerife and just about to fly back over yet again in a couple of weeks.
Just wanted to say its been pretty quiet over there this year (according to the shops / bars). Don't get me wrong, it's still chock-a with sun worshipers sooking the last rays out the sun like its going out of fashion. It's just not as busy as some years - personally i thought it was better that way.
Noticed quite a few places advertising for staff while I was over (Torviscas, Las Americas, Loc Cristianos) so thee are jobs in bars, cafes, etc over there if you are looking. Although, as Rob will tell you - the wages might not be that high.

Post subject: New hotels in Tenerife. |
|
|
Well you'll just catch the end of the busiest time for the clubs. The busiest time of the year for Tenerife is Christmas/New Year fortnight. Busiest time for the clubs is Mid July and August, all the teenagers who haven't learned that it's great to get some winter sunshine take their main hols then.
Re the quietness... tourism is down about 3 and 3/4 %. this year. That's really not too much. The main problem for many bars, shops and restaurants in Tenerife is that as newer, better apartments and commercial premises get built the centres of activity (except the strip in Veronicas) move with them. Anyone staying in one of the new hotels or apartments in Tenerife (or any other country) is not going to pass nice new bars to go to older not so well kept areas. It also means that with the area containing hotels etc. being vastly greater it spreads the visitors out more, giving the false impression of far fewer tourists. |
