Aloe Vera is commonly grown on Tenerife as a garden and ornamental flower and for commercial purposes. It is sold in many forms in cosmetics and healthcare products and the gel and sap in the plant is very good for treating sunburn and skin complaints making it very apt that it grows in a hot climate. _________________ Find out more about me here: http://www.myspacetenerife.com/index.php?page=view_profile&id=10 |

I've always wondered... can you run the sap directly on the skin, on does it have to be 'watered down'? _________________ Buy & Sell your stuff online FREE - www.canarianexchange.com - eBay for the Canaries |

I would say yes, but remember everyone reacts differently to things and what is OK on one may not be on someone else. I would suggest testing a small amount to be on the safe side. _________________ Find out more about me here: http://www.myspacetenerife.com/index.php?page=view_profile&id=10 |

| Is the process somewhat easy to follow to make aloe vera gel at home from the leaves of the plant? |

I have sometimes cut open a leaf and applied the gel directly to my skin with no after effects.
It grows wild in many parts here so keep some in your garden or in a pot on your balcony and cut some off when needed. Fresh is best! _________________ .

| The first time I ever tried fresh Aloe Vera was in the Canary Islands. You always get these people trying to sell you Aloe Vera products in your hotel and then I tried fresh Aloe Vera straight from the plant! It was amazing. I had no reaction and I try and get hold of some whenever i can. Definitely worth keeping in safe place for when you need it most! |

Yes, you can surely make aloe vera gel for yourself while sitting in home. You have to only crush the aloe vera leaf and take the gel out of it. Aloe vera is such a wonderful plant that it finds its use in various purposes. |
