Thanks and I just had a look!
The bad tree looks as if it's dying! Here's how I test for life: nick the bark/skin slightly and see if it has greenness underneath. If it does it's alive. If it is brownish and has no sap then its dead.
It looks as if the bottom is still alive because there is a leaf there. My recommendation at present is find out how far down the tree is still alive by testing the bark. Then prune it hard back to where it is alive and cut off all the dead section.
There are insects that live underground that kill plants by eating the roots and you cannot see them. Mealy bugs do this and so do several species of caterpillar and beetle grub such as the cockchafer. _________________ Find out more about me here: http://www.myspacetenerife.com/index.php?page=view_profile&id=10 |
