Yeah I'd love to go to Gran Canaria sometime not sure how expensive it would be to get there? any ideas.. That would be great if you could chat to him thanks for that..
Where abouts are you? Medano is okay but busier at weekends good for learning spanish though as mine is rusty to say the least.
Only been to Santa Cruz once found one bar very quiet though. It doesnt really bother me about clubs etc its the lack of gay people in general lol its nice to mingle now and then. |

Puerto de la Cruz is the gay centre here. mostly men though. it's only recently that being 'gay' has been legal here. The men have 'come out' but few women admit to it. _________________ .

It is about 48€ on the ferry I think...not sure if that is a return...i would have thought so though.
I must say that I have quite a few Spanish and English gay friends, but they are all male....I have many gay female friends in the UK....but not many here.
I live near Los Abrigos so not far away...... _________________ Find out more at www.myspacetenerife.com

So what is El Medano like to go out for the night? We like going to non tourist places often.
A few weeks ago we chanced upon a little bar in Charco de Pino. Everyone went quite when the four of us walked in but that changed pretty quickly.
Soon after we were challenged to darts - forced to join in an impromtu Karaoke - all Spanish songs that we had never heard of. It was really late by the time we left and the bar tab was less than 10 euros a head. We had such a good night we have been back a couple of times.
On our last visit we were struggling to get a taxi so the barmaid even gave us a lift back down to Las Chafiras where we were staying with our pals.
I would encourage everyone who lives here to get completely away from the resorts sometimes. It really open your eyes and it certainly helps with the Spanish as very few of them speak much English out in the sticks. |

I can recommend Vai Moana's in Las Galletas (on the way in from Guaza/El Fraile side). Really relaxed atmosphere and where you meet "alternative" people (and I mean that in every sense )
I am also not keen on Las Americas although I used to go out here when I first arrived (to the Spanish area, I hasten to add). Try Metropolis by the surfers beach in Las Americas and behind the Hotel Conquistador) if you want a large club (at least large in Tenerife terms!!) with dance room and salsa room. There are also a few places in San Telmo for dancing, although a lot smaller. This is next to the Las Vistas beach in Los Cristianos.
I don't get out much anymore except to our forum get-togethers - am now a settled mum and don't fancy getting up at 8am with a hangover and having to deal with a 4 year-old |

"There's a fairly smart newish gay bar opened recently opposite Veronicas above Burger King. I think it's actually a gay resort hotel rather than just a bar. We have been in once and it's was very very smart reasonably priced and a good mixed crowd. I Can't remember the name of it but you cannot miss it. Look for the flags."
Daverock feeling a bit deaf today. Was that look out for the flags or......

I'm setting up a website for gays in tenerife probably be very small considering the lack of people but might be ususful for people on there holidays etc so any other information like accomodation etc would be great.... very helpful so far.

There are quite a few websites out there but they mainly focus on mainland Spain....
I think it would be a good idea... _________________ Find out more at www.myspacetenerife.com

Yeah i've never actually seen a website for tenerife itself... few for canaries but usually just a map of the bars... unless i'm googling it wrong.
i'm there seems to be quite a few male gay folk which is all good. |
