Hi Maxine

Las Rosas is abeautiful little village. My family and I lived there for about a year from 2002 to 2003. We rented a three bed house with stunning views of Las Galletas and the accommodation was amazing. Unfortunately, things didnt work out for us in Tenerife so we came back to UK, but still miss Tenerife sooo much. Would highly recommend Las Rosas as a quiet area to live, especially if you do have children and it is only 10-15 mins down the TF1 to Las Americas. My husband used to love sitting outside our house at night watching the planes come overhead!

Our rent back then was around 900 euros a month, which was a bargain for the type of property we had, which I was told is very rare to find a house to rent, with a garage and driveway

Anyway, good luck in house hunting! I envy you !

Hi Maxine

The reason we came back is things didnt work out the way we wanted. A shame as I do miss TF. We will be coming back out very soon. My two girls both went to spanish school for a while then transferred to Wingate, a lovely english school that you have propbably heard of.

Would love to move back at some time as my family and I dont wanna stay in england forever!

Are you already in TF or still in UK?

I live just up the road from Las Galletas (in Costa del Silencio) and I too looked at buying there. The only thing I found is that the terraces are generally smaller as it is a typical Canarian village and the locals don't do a lot of sitting ont heir balconies and no pools!! However Las Galletas is a multi-cultured fishing village so you won't feel odd being British. It has plenty of shops and a small beach. All depends on what you are looking for. It is also reasonably cheap in comparison with other more popular touristy areas. I have a Spanish friend who rents a two bedroom apartment and only pays about 450€ rent per month.

Fully agree with Jenny Las Galletas is a picture postcard typically spanish village by the sea, what could be more ideal?

As Jenny has pointed out the balconies and no pools, the buildings are older but its good value.

I have a friend that lives in Galletas and when I say to him but you have no pool he replies 'I have the sea Karl, how much water do I need' lol.

If Costa del Silencio is too quiet for you then Las Rosas most certainly will be, it's a residential village next to Costa.

Hi Maxine

Sorry Ive taken ages to reply, but have had three birthday and the xmas festivities to sort out!!

The reason I took my girls out of spanish school was they had no english speaking class mates and just werent getting on enough so I took them out and enrolled them at Wingate. I suggest you get in contact with Wingate School as soon as possible to sort out enrolling your children. This is their website address. Also, enrollment is quite easy but the amount of forms to fill out is a nightmare! Anyway, heres the website address...www.wingateschool.com.

Anyway, good luck and keep me posted!

Much love and happy xmas Smile
