Post subject: Hello I'm New! |
|
|
Hi, hubby, daughter and I have just come back from our second (diving) holiday in Tenerife. We stay in Abades with the people who run the dive school (yep - I know this is not my diving forum!!! - just a little about myself!).
We have fallen in love with Tenerife and want to buy over there, around £150,000. Although we want to semi-retire there eventually (and will sell what we have at that time and buy something more suitable for retirement) for the moment we want to be around the south of the Island (for diving ) and somewhere suitable for daughter when she gets a bit older. We briefly stopped at Los Christianos, expected it to be pretty awful as we had been told it was TOT (toilet of Tenerife) but found it really quite nice. We liked the harbour area and the restaurants and shops etc.
Soooooooooooo
Having said hello to you all can anyone answer:
How many beaches are at Los Christianos - is it just the one by the harbour or are there a couple of others tucked around any corners.
Is is as lively as Playa de las Americas in the summer with marauding gangs of tanked up teenagers?
Should we steer clear of LC or should we buy there?
Honest replies appreciated.

Hi Jane and welcome,
There are two more beaches one either side of the port. LC is quieter than Las Americas and if you buy a little back from the beachfront it can be reasonably quiet but bear in mind that if you buy on a holiday complex you're going to get some noise and occasional disturbance as people let their hair down. If you're going to use the apartment for holiday lets it's better to have beachfront. From what you've said I'd say buy there, it's certainly not the TOT. BTW I've lived here 18+ years. Take a look at our property section and look at the choice of property in Los Cristianos a lot of it is quite new if it was unpopular then constructors would not be building more.
