Accents can be made using the number keys on the right whilst pressing Alt:

130 = é
160 = á
161 = í
162 = ó
163 = ú
164 = ñ
168 = ¿

You can also use the Character Map to copy & paste special characters.

Usually found at Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools >

Argh it is so frustrating I am learning my days of the week on byki and it will not allow me to get Wednesday correct without accents and I have tried everything and it will not work on my computer

Very frustrating I know it miercoles..... I know it !!! Grrrr

Woo Woo sams version worked eventually when I got the correct accent ha ha but it is very long winded and time consuming is there no other way ?

BYKI has accents built in.

type the letter - example 'e' then press the 'up' arrow key.

is there any rule for which way accents face which is easy to remember or when you know they should be there ?

Also I am trying to learn my numbers now as I have mastered my days of the week and why does that byki thingy not do the numbers in order when you are doing the cards I find it most confusing ?

its so you dont keep doing it and just memorise the words there saying as numbers arnt always that way in real life,

Oh thanks sam I will try that when I get to the spelling bit for numbers may be a while yet... not as easy as days of the week !

I thought that Leanne... it is just a pain as I like to lean things A - Z ... my way of learning will have to improvise my own way !

Spanish accents are always the same way - except the ñ of course.

ahhh ok I just saw the character keyboards and thought OMG dashes this way that way, scwiggles, arrows etc etc etc

before I knew how to change my letters so they had accents...I used BYKI and just typed the word as I knew it but ticked the box that said USE THIS AS AN ALTERNATIVE ANSWER....or something like that.....

Then I never had to faff around with accents.. I still knew they had to have them of course...lol

Oh I didn't notice a box like that will have to look out for it when I get to that part of the numbers bit ! Its a bit harder than the days of the week, may be here for a while lol
