As for original songs and music, its not something that interests me personally,but I think you will have to hit on the Spanish Fraternity in order to discover where its to be played!!!
Oneof the most amazing gigs my other half did once was with a band called the VOODOO KIDS,and this was in a bar/Supermarket!! YES,SUPERMARKET!!! In PALM MAR!!!
Disrupted halfway through by the police. The atmosphere was brilliant though, about 600 spanish just totally going for it.
Another band whowill soon be making a comeback over here is RENCH.........I will keepyou posted Bard

Well, that means that M4 have lost their residency of 2 nights a week there too then! 
Yes, I agree you have to look to the Spanish fraternity. The bars I mentioned, Vai Moana and Brujas are mainly Spanish. As for Rench I believe they have just recently played at the latter venue.

There's 2 bars at Moonlight, one that does cabaret and the other which used to house the lizard kings but then had M4 on twice a week. |

So as I understood from your previous message here, vvv, they have lost their residency and yet another act who could really play have to find somewhere else to play. The funny thing is that José from the band told me he was so fed up with the music scene here that he wanted to leave for Finland! Perhaps he's gone!

I don't know any of the members of M4 so I don't know whats happened to them now.
I believe the Moonlight Corner got rid of the LK's because, they were making loadsa money up until midnight, then of course they had to stop playing, therefore, the bar emptied.Now even though Liam used to carry on with Karaoke, the clientelle was totally different,therefore it wasn't successful.
Now they have cabaret and Karaoke7 nights a week.
Now its alright for us to argue, but as I will say all along ,look at it from a bar owners point of view. They have to make money,and as much of it as they possibly can with the minumum outlay.
NowI loved nothing more than a night out going to see the LK's,however, the Moonlight isn't here to subsidise my preferences.

| There's not much of a music scene in Finland I don't think. I haven't been there for 3 years though, so things might have changed as we even have got some internationally famous groups now. I suppose it could be worse though, at least most towns have got places for youngsters to go practise their music. My brother has got a band there and they've just had their first gig at his schools sporting day. A bit weird place for their type of music...black metal. |
