hi!!! i'm kristan from barnsley (please dont hold that against me!), and with any luck i'll be moving out to tenerife in july. cant wait. just in process of selling off my worldly goods, which shouldn't take long. ha ha.

this sites fantastic for info! would love to know whether anyone knows of any dog grooming shops around americas/adeje/fanabe area as thats the work i'd like idealy, although willing to do owt. i've been recommended 'pretty pooches' but assume there are more?
any info would be great, thanks kx

thanks for making me welcome! am out 1st week in july to check out places so hopefully someone'll take me on ha ha. have been looking for room mates too on the easypiso.com site, so i can look at them too.

although very excited i'm also a little nervous bout the initial 'settling in' period- being alones a tad scary! but i'm sure i'll make friends soon anybody got some suggestions about good ways to meet other peeps? kx

You need to talk to Apollo on the forum (where are you Steff?) She has/had a grooming shop and knows a lot of people in that "field".

Re sharing an apartment, I think you'd be better off booking a package holiday on your own and meeting people here and then deciding who you want to share with. On internet you really have to be careful arranging to share with someone you don't know. It can then be very difficult even if it's just because you don't get on.

Re residencia, yes you are now supposed to get a residencia certificate if you are going to be living here more than three months.

wow i could really do with speaking to apollo then, that'd be great. i've got a little experiance but should have my diploma by the time i'm out. like i said though i'm willing to do any work to start with.

re sharing i wouldn't commit to owt before meeting em. thought i could arrange to meet some of em when i'm over in july. don't wanna end up with a weirdo! just thought sharing would keep costs down and keep me from being on me own!
how easy/difficult is getting a residencia then?

I reckon that being alone is better than sharing with a weirdo or even just someone with whom you have nothing in common.

Karl will know about the residencia as Clare did hers a short while ago.

Hi Kaybeam and a belated welcome from me. Agree with Jenny, Apollo is the person to talk to, she knows everything about dog grooming etc, plus she is a qualified vetinery nurse, although think she is a bit busy with other things at the moment. Am sure if you PM her she will pick up your message and reply. My dog absolutely ADORES her.

I do know of a couple of dog grooming places in Guargachio and Las Galletas but see how you get on with Apollo first.

One of the things we miss here that we had in England was the mobile dog washing/grooming vans/trucks that used to come to your home they were excellent, all done on a franchise basis but does not seem to be any of them here. The big one in England that did very well was Pooch Mobile, I think they were an Australian based company that franchised all over the world and only used aromotherapy products, no chemicals at all (sorry to all of you that think sunny is going OTT) but they are our babies after all. lol lol
