Ah I was down near there earlier and forgot to go and look. My Uncle was being picky and decided he want a plain boring meal in one of the restaurants in the center square-thingy.

Even when we were outside at the front of the closed doors there was no mention anywhere amongst the tempting delights that await inside what their opening times are.

It was only when someone passed and said they do not open on a Friday.

Even their ad in the local paper does not list opening times.

I can confirm Mr Trebles fair evaluation of the Restaurant .. I enjoyed it immensely pity about the company (only kidding) great night Wifie and I will be back with Mr and Mrs Treb if they will have us .... Sad

Well well well....

After such a glowing report of this restaurant......we went last night.

Hubby, me 3 children and 3 of our friends who are staying over at the moment.

We got there at about 7.15 as the children were at school today so needed to be home early.

They came and took our 4€ each (for knife, fork and glass) very quickly.

They then took our drink orders.....also reasonably quickly.

We decided on our meals and the orders were taken. We waited for our starters, which were very nice....between us we had garlic pizza breads, broschetas and soups.

After this it all went wrong.

We had our starters and then had to wait over an hour for our main courses....while we watched 2 tables (that came in 20 mins or so after us) get their starters and mains before our mains had reached us.

Also these 2 tables had major complaints about their food....one was that their chicken on the pizza was raw...

We were still waiting for our meals when another couple came in and complained that they had also been waiting ages for their food and could they explain what the delay was. No they couldn't explain.

Our youngest was almost asleep when eventually we asked where our food was, we were told it was just coming.

At 9pm we eventually got served our main meals, which looked lovely but were actually COLD.

The sauses that we had on the steaks were very watery. I had the lamb after such a good recommendation.....It looked great but it was very very fatty, cold and the sauce was so watery it tasted awful.

We were all most dissappointed with the service and the food. By the end of the night there were 5 complaints including us....no explaination as to why the food was delayed....no apologies, no nothing.

We paid a fair price still as we did not want to look bad. BUT I doubt that we will be going back.

We tried to think about why our food took so long....they were not so busy that it would take over and hour for food to be cooked...and maybe if they had come over and explained that the food maybe a little while then we would have been a tad happier.

Make you own minds up when you go.

Maybe it was just a bad day for them.....I hope they dont have to many more.!!!!!

lol....There was about 4 people in the kitchen....

One of who did not have his whites on and was sweating through his clothes...lol

I was really dissappointed as I was looking forward to it.

We didnt even stay for dessert.... Crying or Very sad

They had loads of staff on and we just thought that had one of them come and said something...ANYTHING...then that would have eased the situation.

From what Stipps has said, It must have been a bad "hair" night at the place. I agree the service is not perhaps as fast as some places but the food we had was good. OG and I, certainly did not have any fat on our lamb and the sauce was good.

There is NO exscuse for the staff not to visit your table and keep you informed of what was going on in the kitchen and how long your food will be etc.

As for no apologies, well I have a theory, albeit, if it is correct it is still no exscuse. Can you imagine how many people complain when the food is good, just so they dont have to put as much in the pay box. I bet the waitreses get it all the time. They must get fed up with it and think, here we go, another punter who is going to put a euro etc in the pot.

You obvously DID have a poor meal though.

Mrs Treb, Old Golfer, Wiffe and I will be going out on Saturday and we may use the place again.

I will let you know what it is like again.

Totally agrree that some people would complain so as niot to pay a fair price.....

We paid a good price.....some would not have.

Although the complaints were coming thick and fast.....2 of them was about the slow service...BUT the one was about raw chicken on the plate that was swiftly removed and taken away by the staff.

My main gripe was that we had waited over a hour for our mains that then came out cold and watery....lol..

BUT....like I said...maybe just a bad day for them.

We may try again but not with the children and see how we get on.
