Post subject: NIE Application |
|
|
Hi all
After everything I had read about applying for the NIE number I was preparing my self for a long wait and a horrendous time getting it, well WOW I went in to the information desk hechecked my form which I got from the forum, I had to go over the road to get a photocopy, but he gave me a number it was 38. I came back form the photocopier place this was about 10.30 in the morning as I had to go back to the mobile phone shop where I left my passport!!!!
I went to sit down got my book out as I was expecting the long wait, it was number 24 on the screen. The policeman behind the desk finished with number 24 and came and looked at everybody´s tickets to see the numbers, he then served number 25 and I was the only one sitting there so he called me forward.
It was all processed and I was told to come back in a week and it was all done in about 20 minutes, so for those that are paniking like me do not worry it was not so horrendous after all in fact it could not have gone more smoothly.
Managed to open a bank account as well and had the card and cheque book in two days and got a mobile phone and joined the local english video club, so I am getting there and ready for my move over in January.
Hope this is helpful and for those going its not so bad.

I'm glad that we've been able to help. You can buy me that beer now if you like. _________________ .
