Post subject: Computer keyboards that lose the letters and numbers |
|
|
The last keyboard I bought had black keys with white letters and characters and numbers that stood out well and was made by Logitech, whichI believe is a well known firm, but only weeks later some of them started to rub off as I typed. Now it has got so bad that many keys are just black and I have to rely on memory and correct the mistakes when I miss the right one!
I have met other people who have had this problem. The sad thing about it is that the keyboard functions fine apart from this problem and now if I get a new one it seems such a waste of what I have already! It is another example of modern shoddy goods made to pack up early!
The only other answer I have thought of is Tippex and paint the letters on again! |

Cut your nails! if you paint them on then use clear nail varnish over the top they will last. _________________ .

Not yet, no! I don't know where you'd get stickers!
You are right I'm not having much luck seeing as I have had a terrible headache today and my sink drain is blocked and it's not the u-bend. If I get the landlady to get a plumber it will mean waiting in for them to turn up and my experience with people showing up when they are supposed to has not been encouraging! Will have another go at it.
The butterfly project is going well though seeing as I have over 30 Monarchs pupating now, which is just as well because I have very little food left for them! |

Sounds a good idea to varnish them. I do have long nails on my right hand which is my main typing hand - I never thought of that. |

lol Bard,
yep I know exactly what your talking about with the black keyboard with no screen print left on , I have this problem on my works keyboard, I tell my IT guys and my boss "iv worn the keyboard out because of all the work I do !!!!! " still waiting on that pay rise though, guess I'll have a long wait and he doesnt believe me......
but really I am told keyboards cost very little here think under £30 for a decent one, although I know you can get really cheap ones over here for as little as £6, really cheap and cheerful........
I cant really understand why this happens and only on black ones, Iv an IBM machine and keyboard Iv had for over 10 years and use it a lot, it has no sign of any of the lettering dissapearing, good quality I guess other than cheep imported rubbish..........
I used to work for a company many years ago who built keyboards and am familiar with whats inside and the assembly process of these, I know when I worked there we used to populate the keyboards by putting the different keys on the correct places by had, obviously depending what language the keyboard was, now a days I believe they populate with blank keys and then the fully assembled keyboard goes through a screen printer to put the lettering on. ( some usless info for you...... ) lol _________________ im back in Tenerife soon........ yepeeeeeeeee |

I was re- taught to type on a blank keyboard, yes back in the dark ages, when I started work for the civil service, we were told to forget all we had been taught, the home keys were green and the rest red, it was murder, sitting in a cubicle with headphones on and a screen ....a........b........c etc for 2 hours per day arghhhhhhhhh _________________ Failures don't plan to fail, they fail to plan

Mine is the same - Black Logitech. It belonged to someone else before Luckily I don't need to look at the keyboard much!
What about trying to get another one at the car boot in Guaza on your way to Silencio next Sunday Bard? I have seen several there for sale when I've been. _________________ Who am I? Find out more here: http://www.myspacetenerife.com/index.php?page=view_profile&id=17
I will make this day a happy one for I alone can determine what kind of day it will be. |
