im just a bit upset today. i saw all my friends last night and told them i was definatley still going to go tenerife in April and told them all the information id found out and what my aims were and one by one they all started laying into me, telling me how selfish i am and that i dont value friendship ... it has really hurt my feelings but made my determination to get away from home even stronger.

Its really suprising that when you need support and encouragement the most that people show their true colours.

My family are being brilliant right now and my dad is being very helpful as he spends most the year on the island so he knows little things i would never think of ..

just needed to write this.. sorry if it bores you to tears xxxxxxxxx

p.s sorry if my chav writing or bad spelling came out .. i did double check but my eyes are a little tiery and my head is all over the show ! xx

ok so where to start on your so called friends! basically they're jealous that they don't have the courage to get out there and do something so fantastic! if they were true friends they would be happy for you! and encourage you to pursue your dream and support you! you're much better off without them!!

Claire.. Its sad that your friends are even behaving in this way. Yes they will miss you, but it works both ways.. You're going to miss them too.
Everyone has to make sacrifices in life and yes some people do get hurt but its your happiness which is most important. Personally if i was a close friend of yours i'd be soo happy and i'd be saying.. "Hey, does that mean i get free accomodation when i come to visit you "

Good grief Claire. They should be supporting you and helping at this point in your life. It is a big change for you.

It may not be want to hear but you know who your real friends are at a time like this. Life is too short, you go for it and stay in touch with those that find it in themselves to give you the encouragement, confidence and friendship you need.

I am in a similar situation, only my best friend will be mvoing to the other side of the world so I don't think I'll be able to afford to visit her often. However, I have smiled, told her I will miss her but that she is doing the right thing if that's where she wants to be. And I will help her in any way I can to prepare for her move.

That's how your friends should be reacting too. If they are true friends, they will come round and understand. Perhaps it came as a shock to them. I hope it's just that.

I had some of that too with people who didn't want me to go and now I have I haven't had a word from them since despite my letters to them! Sorry to hear of your problems with people you know!

Only you know whether your friends are being honest... or just being petty. There are those that will try to dissuade you (for their own reasons and insecurities).

We were really lucky in that everyone supported us. Even my stepdad - and that was a surprise!

Honey - only you know what's in your heart... and only you know if this is right for you! You will have people that try to put you off - but stick to your guns!

As long as you have your head screwed on (and please don't take that the wrong way... as in clockwise as opposed to anticlockwise lol) then you'll be fine!

here's the thing... I've had a few vinos now... and I'm being supportive (in my own messed up way) but I'm also encouraging realism.

Do what you know is right. Don't stand for nonsense from people with their own issues. get a vino in for Elle when I'm next in the reef (ooh, did I really type that?) accept that some "friends" think they're doing the right thing in their own way... oh... just do what is right in your heart honey! And if anyone stands in your way... then deck 'em! It works for me!

PS: You really look like a woman called Louise that is the mate of one of one of my best mates that has now moved to Malaga. I even pointed yu out to hubby. Ok... that's the second "You look like someone I know" posts tonight. I should stop posting in the fourm now really. Yes, I should. Just when i thought that my friends were going through a phase it turns out they really hate me for no reason

On saturday night its a close friends birthday, shes having ameal at a resturant in Uxbridge, she texted me last week about it so i made sure i was free for the night

I rung her today to see what she wanted for her birthday and she kept knocking my calls, turns out im no longer invited because some of the girls going dont want me there !!!!!

Some people are so spiteful, turns out my "close" friend is just a sheep!!

Oh well 2 weeks today ill be in Tenerife xxx
