Just curious to see what your thoughts are on politics in this country. _________________ Life from an outsider’s perspective… |

Ooh, I'm the only one who voted so far!
Glad this has been raised in here... nobody's talking about it in Lanzarote yet. The billboards are going up though... to replace the carnival signs (that was this weekend in Playa Blanca).
Do you guys really feel the effects of the Spanish government? Or does Tenerife make it's own laws and benefits up, like Lanzarote seems to.

I have just read about the elections and the fact that spain is upping its security as they expect terrorist attacks.....
Is it really that serious an election???

What hasn't helped my view of Rajoy is the fact that the partito popular (PP) had promised to plant 500 million pine trees if they win the next election.
While good in theory, a lot of people were saying that this will be statisticallly impossible, as it means they'd need to plant 14,000 trees/hour for 4 years, which certainly seems to be an unlikely promise.

I haven't noticed any banners going up, but there is a big TV focus on the upcoming elections |
This is a typical or 'normal' politicians promise. _________________ .
