Post subject: Places to go/things to do...... |

Hi all Well, it's almost here! Only one week to go till I'm off to Tenerife. Just wondered if you knowledgable peeps out there can give me a bit of advice on places to see as we only have 3 1/2 days there to cram as much in as poss! We are'nt beach bums. An ideal day for us would be a full day out in the hire car (we love scenery) followed by a lovely meal late eve (I'm veggie so any advice on the best places to eat out welcomed!) and a few drinks. We have been to Teide and Masca but would also like to seek out other places. Are there any other towns that come reccommended for a half/full day out? Quaint fishing villages? Or maybe even organised trips that someone to reccommend? We are staying in Las Americas. |

Hi Crazycat
we have just come back from 2 week hols to the south of the Island and I can recommend the following trips;
Jungle Park - (Free Bus there & back) You can spend all day here and there is lots to do & see.
Monkey Zoo - (Tenerife Zoo) This is a great little spot where you have the opportunities of feeding some of the animals
La Gomera Trip - Take a ferry from Los Cristianos (about 90 mins) and head up to the mountains with superb scenery.
Teidi trip you have already done, but hey it is still awesome!!!
Hope this helps
Regards

Ideally you should squeeze the Loro Park into your busy schedule somewhere _________________ My Paranoia-Management Therapy is going great! Now they're only watching me half the time.... |

As Zappa says 'Las Aguilas Del Teide' or Jungle park as it is now called is a worth while day out, especially the bird of prey show, that's my favourite!!
The Loro Parque 'Penguinarium' has 12 tonnes of snow fall everyday....a sight to be seen
For both, take your camera, video camera and loads of spare batteries and memory cards. _________________

Thanks for your replies, the jungle park sounds right up my street, sounds like a great day out as does the loro park, will definately be going to one of these! Just been digging out a few maps and guidebooks on Tenerife, inbetween doing searches on this forum and looking at some of the amazing photos posted by Bardofeley. Cheers guys! |
