I have been trying to find out what sort of cricket I hear singing at night here and so far the elusive little creatures have eluded me until recently when I found this female crawling outside my door.

She will probably star in a future column but here she is anyway:



It's a species of Field Cricket but which one I don't know. Field Crickets are very rare in the UK but I believe there are conservation programs underway. Here in Tenerife they are doing well though! Wink
