Please can someone tell me WHY i am still a junior reefer when i joined over a year ago and some one that has not been on 2 minutes gets to be a pro . doesnt seem fare

I'm afraid I have to agree with Juum here. Sometimes I think that people forget this is a TENERIFE FORUM, not a Sewing Circle. Laughing

If we removed the count for all posts (and particularly new threads) that have nothing whatsoever to do with Tenerife or fail to relate to Tenerife in any obvious way (i.e. 95% of Chit Chat posts) then a few of our Supreme Reefers on here would still be Junior Reefers themselves... Rolling Eyes If I had replied to all of those over the past 2 years, do you think I'd still be on 1500 posts??

Don't get me wrong, the regulars on here are a great bunch and we all have a laugh, but this has become far more of a social forum than a serious Tenerife information exchange or Tenerife social networking site. And the result is only too obvious when no-one turns up to the forum meets!

So Sonja, don't you feel bad about your 'entirely relevant' post count, Juum is right about the 'quality not quantity'.

Alternatively you could post replies every time someone in the U.K. starts a thread about their haemmoroids or their hangover, or how their dog has just caught cat-flu etc etc.

..since the "chit chat" section was started LOADS of people have joined this forum.....there are only so many questions that can be asked about tenerife, and they all usually do get the same , or similar answers!!..there is a lot of really good/helpful info on here about tenerife, places to go/see/eat/job searching/nie stuff etc....but you stop people coming on if they don't want to discuss tenerife every time they post, then there will be only a very few people posting!...then the meets would only be for those who live there!!..whats wrong with it being a social forum too??..most postees on here come out to tenerife regularly so do have a genuine interest in the place...lighten up funky, and yes, i'm ready for the very probable onslaught of your keyboard fingers............ Well said Sara,

I joined the forum to talk about Tenerife, find out useful information and also to make friends and have a chat.

I have done all these things and enjoy my time on here.
I feel that when we move to the island, we won't be alone as we have already made friends.

I agree Sara, we want some friendly "chit chat" what's wrong with it being a social forum as well as being an informative one.
