I dont know how these people who commute day to day do it!

I am in Leeds for the next 6 weeks on a course and have to admit that for the first 2 days we had an early finish but yesterday by the time i got in i had been on the go for 14 hours.

The train i had looked up on the internet was none existent and now i am on day 4 and it still has not put in an appearance

Get back into Halifax for 6 o clock and all buses that run my way stop after 6 o clock, i found out yesterday, so after sitting with a coffee for an hour until my brother kindly picked me up it had taken me 2 hours to get in from what is a 25 minute drive by car

I thought buses around Adeje were bad.

Roll on my graduation date and i can get back to my normal place of work!!!

Neil commutes monthly to the UK lol...then has to drive everyday from Seaford to Barking round the lovely M25 lol...

I think it is awful...I would never do it I dont think...

Thank goodness for you that it is onlt for a while lol....

Thats what i keep telling myself, head down graft away and put everything we can away for when we come back!!!

Back in Halifax tomorrow for half a day so at least i get a long weekend and prepare me for the long days again next week...........i can hardly wait

Awwww Chris used to hate it communting he gets home so much earlier now he is driving !

I am back at the bank, but cos i have had nearly 12 months off i am now a new starter and have to go on a course to learn how to do some stuff that i already know how to do!!!

I am bottom of the holiday list now and because i am on the 'new' contract i have to work a few saturdays as well which i never had to do the first time around as i had been there for 10 years but now i have been there for just 4 weeks!!!

Oh well, cant do anything about it but mope and they have been fantastic to take me back for a second time so that means a lot to me.

When we getting together anyway lea?

We are just back from Scotland tonight after a weekend with family ! Good and Bad ...long story !

i know just what you mean Fiona .... it takes me just over 5mins to get to work now in the morning .... i leave at 7.45ish for an 8am start... & get the car parked & in work all before 8! lol Then when I finish at 1pm-ish im normally home in the same 5 minutes & back by the pool !!!!!!!! lol

the old days of commuting, getting stuck in traffic, getting HOT & stuffy or stuck in the Pi**y rain for ages & paying through the nose for over extortionate public trasnsport or petrol is enough to put anyone off doing it everyday in the UK!!! ............ lol

Communting! Done my fair share of that. Hours upon hours of roadway, airways and railtrack. Thankfully, my current contract in SA involves a 5 minute walk, through a beatiful park, from my home to the office. It makes a delightful, refreshing change.

It's a shame that all of my contracts are not like that. For example, I do some occasional work in Dubai, which necessitates a 9 hour flight, followed by a one day road journey. That is really exhausting. The one good thing (for my Mum) is that I am given the opportunity to buy gifts in Dubai, on the return leg of the journey...
