Hi there - another newbie

Myself, my husband and 2 mates are coming to Tenerife for 2 weeks on the 7th October. We're stayng in the Chayofa Country Club in Los Cristianos and none of us have been there before.

Only discovered this forum today, been posting on the Laganas board, as my son was working there fore the summer.

Any comments on Chayofa/Los Cristianos - bars, restaurants etc would be most welcome. By the way, should mention, we're all in our 40's

Hi Snooks and welcome, I think I'm right in saying that the Chayofa country club is not in Los Cristianos but a 5 minute taxi ride outside it. It's a timeshare resort. You have a couple of good restaurants on the doorstep Clarets and La Estancia. No night life unless you go into Los Cristianos or Playa de las Americas

Thanks Rob, I kinda figured that from my own internet research!!! We didnt particularly want to be in the middle of all the clubs & strip, however us olduns do like to party a bit. So would u suggest going into Los Cristianos for restaurants and bars?

All depends on what tickles your fancy....when I travel i like to sample the local dishes not 'english' Just head for the beach area and you'll be spoilt for choice, Chicagos used to be a good entertainment bar, haven't been for ages . My favourite way of eating is 'tapas' a group of people order a variety of dishes and everyone has some of each. The best for me is Recuerdos in Adeje I normally just let them bring whatever they want to cook.

Thanks for that Rob. We normally like to experience the local food too and hate chips & brown sauce with everything - same goes for the bars. We've been to mainland Spain several times and LOVE Tapas, so will be sure to follow your recommendations.

I have just returned from a long weekend in Edinburgh (Currie to be exact) and I can understand why you are looking forward to the warmth of Tenerife.
