Hi all,is anyone else getting really bad winds (weather winds I mean, just in case someone takes it the wrong way) here in Palm Mar we are experiencing massive gusts. Although it can get a bit windy at times these are really severe gusts

Sorry Sunny would not know. We are inside at the moment with all the black out curtains up and the ceiling fans on. My son has an appt with his eye specialist in the morning after 3 days of eyes drops which paralyse the muscles and make his eyes very sensitive to light. Even when the drops have finished it going to be another 5 days before his eyes are back to normal and he can go out.

I feel like an owl.

Oh no! That could herald the start of a Calima. A Calima in August.....stand by to be cooked!

Just done a weather search and can find no warnings of an imminent calima

Karl don't know what happened there just sent you a reply before Rob put his post on about the Calima and its not there.

Basically just a short one to say poor little Tom and to give him BIG hug from me.

God hope it isn't a Calima after Karl putting me onto the right thread the other day, when I asked what a Calima was, now I know what to expect. We have just had to put our balcony chairs etc away as blowing them over, and they are not lightweight ones either

Amazing as quickly as it started the wind has now dropped to a breeze. It really was bad and has covered everywhere in sand and dust. Lasted I suppose for about 4 hours. Also rubbish strewn all over the roads. Hopefully that is the last of it now.

we were down las vistas beach for my daughters birthday .....and for the first time ever......since i have been her at least..there was a bloody sand storm down the beach..

the wind was a gentle breeze...then all of a sudden the beach lifted up ....blowing everywhere . Some people left it was so bad....We all got covered in sand. You could literally see it coming round the bay.

Then as quick as it started....it all stopped and the sea went calm, the sand lay back down and then the breeze vanished and by 4.30...it was damned hot.............WOW

I was on the terrace a few mins ago when I felt a few spots of rain. Even though it was sunny with only a few scattered clouds in the sky. Bizarre.

For a second a thought I had been teleported back to the UK !!!!

Karl, we have just had a few drops of rain too, but still sunny!

Strips, we have been getting the winds you are talking about for the last few days, must admit not as bad as the other day when we had to shut all the doors and windows, but for the last couple of days for a couple of hours in the afternoon usually from about 1 - 3 pm and then stops as quickly as it appeared. As there is still some building work going on in Palm Mar the dust flies everywhere.

You lot and your rain................I was up at Loro Parque tyoday and just as we were heading to leave at 6.15pm it absolutely chucked it down......the rain was awful all the way round from Puerta to about the shark fin bridge...then nothing and it was dry all the way here....although have just had a few drops outside my door.

The roads were flooded up at Puerta within the hour..lol never mind

You can never stop the English talking about the weather, can you. Although remember in August last year we had terrible rain which virtually shut down the motorway, do you remember. I know one person who does not miss the rain and that is my dog, he may be a black lab but hates water!!

funny enough it was acyually the 18th of august when the weather went bad last year..........roads flooded and stuff................it was a day early this year lol
