Post subject: My Chayofa Country Club Job Offer |
|
|
Hi there
Just been reading the forum on sun4free.com and wondered if you could give me some advice.
I've recently been offered a job as a Tour Representative for La Chayofa Country Club in Los Cristianos. I applied and got the job via an agency here in London.
The job itself isn't in sales (well not as a deal closer anyway), just to show
potential buyers around the resort and facilities, then I refer them on to the salespeople. Just wondered if you'd heard any stories about this kind of job and whether it's actually worth me handing in my notice to take this role?
I've worked on a cruise ship for three years as an Entertainer and am very well travelled and have lots of Entertainment and administration experience. If the job in Chayofa doesn't work out, do you think I'd find another job in Entertainment - perhaps in a hotel?
Any advice would be grately appreciated.
Thank you |

Hi,
For a start la chayofa is not in Los Cristianos but up in the hills a bit, about 10 mins in a car or there are buses. I suspect that you will be paid commission only which means that it is sales, time share normally works in the way that the first sales person shows the clients around and explains the system, then when the client is ready to buy a 'closer' takes over to seal the deal. If you're not being offered a contract and salary then it's commission only and you have to make sales!
Hundreds if not thousands of people are brought to Tenerife every year and 99% of them end up searching for other work or going home a lot worse off financially.
I suggest that you contact this agency to check thoroughly what you've been offered. |

Thanks for the reply Rob.
I'm getting paid a basic as well as commission.
They're also providing accommodation for a month. They told me that this particular role is only usually offered to those around 30 years of age but they liked my CV and the fact I've worked on a ship so they're offering it to me (I'm 26 by the way).
Does this just sound like another timeshare job offers which end up in tears??! |

Sorry Rob - forgot to ask, how far is Chayofa Country Club from las Americas?
