Hi All,
for anyone looking for work this summer(and beyond!) O´Neills in Veronicas will be re-opening in April and is going to need a manager, PR manager, bar staff, PRs and DJs. Obviously I can´t promise anyone a job without first meeting them but if anyone already living here or is coming over to look for work either reply here or drop me a line at greg@thechaps.net.
See you soon,
Greg[/b]

Hi Suzi,
Call in when you get here, I think there will be a shortage of workers this summer so I´m sure I´ll be able to find you work without any problems.

pay for bar work is lousy to put it bluntly. it's the job that thousands of youngsters think of when they want to come to tenerife and so there are always plenty of people looking for bar work, most of them inexperienced or claim to have experience when they haven't. wages can be as low as 3.25 Euros an hour! Good quality staff that have established themselves will earn more, the best wage that I know of is 6 Euros per hour for attractive hard working staff. If you're thinking of bar work and renting a two bed apt then I hope your other half has a well paid job. After easter until the start of summer is a slow time here so very few people will be hiring. Sorry to be all doom and gloom but it's better for you to know the truth then you can decide. Best of luck Rob

Cheers for the advice, Bar work will be a last resort. I work for a travel agent at the mo, Is there much call for that over there and do you need to speak fluent spanish?

Thanks to everyone for all the replies, for anyone I haven´t replied personlly to and for anyone else who passes this way, the best thing to do is give me a call when you arrive or call into Brannigans and ask for me.
It seems from this forum and from e-mails I´ve received that everone is after work behind the bar. Well, unless youre dead set on the idea of bar work and want to start out with poor wages, or you´re already a good bar tender I´d give PRíng a go. A good bar tender will earn about 50€ a night where as a good PR will easily earn more than 100€ a night. It´s alot more fun and alot less stressfull (In the summer anyway!) There´s also alot more job security being a PR, as soon as it goes a bit quieter the first casualties are bar staff where as bar owners will fight to the death to keep a good PR!
If you´re a good looking girl and you are confident around people the you should really be thinking about selling either shots or jelly shots, one of the girls in O´Neills last summer earned over 2oo€ in one night! Now I know that that´s a non politically correct statement but I don´t think that a bloke or an ugly chick would have the same effect! Laughing
See you all soon,
Greg
