I'm not surprised that you're struggling. There's very little wood used in construction here hence very little call for joiners. Do you speak Spanish? _________________ .

Are you in Tenerife Lee, when you say trying to find a job, how are you going about it. Letters? Email?
I would highly recommend being here and trying maybe over a weeks holiday. _________________ Need a cleaner in South Tenerife ? Cleaning just got better... www.maid4tenerife.com

Cheers for the replies...
Nah I dont speak Spanish but I wouldnt mind learning though.
A lot of the buildings i've worked on in the past arent exactly made from wood but there's still a lot to do for a joiner though.
At the minute all I can do is check through the internet. Which isnt doing much either... I understand it'd be easier if I was over there for a holiday or something. Which I intend to do once I can afford it. But I was just trying to find a little more about it before hand.
Thanks for the help! Much appreciated... |

Hi Lee and welcome on board!
There are not many British run building sites here Although many Brits do set up businesses and work for British clients - most are small companies and probably don't advertise heavily on the internet.
Keep an eye on the Jobs section sticky where the list of job vacancies is regularly updated.
It is easier to find work once you are over here, although you may be better looking for various types of jobs and not limiting yourself to just joinery. _________________ Who am I? Find out more here: http://www.myspacetenerife.com/index.php?page=view_profile&id=17

If you're that far away from being here then go and buy some Spanish lessons TODAY and start learning if you're serious about working as a joiner here. Without speaking good Spanish no Spanish company will employ you. _________________ .
