Post subject: Which restaurant? |
|
|
I am lucky enough to have my Dad who is over for a week to take us out on Saturday night for dinner.
There will be me my wife, my son who is 3, my brother and his wife and their daughter who is 6.
I want a restaurant somewhere between Del Duque and Los Cristianos, can be inland, with a good veggie choice. Not bothered about the price or if its canarian, dutch, chinese, thai etc. lol.
But is has to be quite child friendly so cant be that posh with silver service.
Where would you recommend that is gonna be fantasitc.
(And Jenny mention this to my brother and I will never live it down so hush hush pleeeeeeese)
Thanks for any advice

The paraiso in Valle san Lorenzo is lovely....and they do veggie stuff. Not over expensive and very good service and the food is fab.
We have been there for dinner and lunch on several occassions. It is the one on the left as you drive through from Cristianos end.....there is another one owned by the same people on the other side.

we have never booked, but then we tend to go out fairly early in comparison to the spanish...heehee
It is really nice though Karl. We took my 3 children and my 2 nieces and they were really good with the children. The portions are very big though for the pastas lol mine all shared they were so big. _________________ Find out more at www.myspacetenerife.com

Yes, I agree Paraiso offers nice food and if you go early you should be ok, otherwise you'll just have to wait a little.
I can also recommend the Mexican "La Taquería" in Guargacho on the main road (easy to find). Again go early and you shouldn't need to book.
One that I like, especially for daytime, is "Las Gangarras", Scott probably knows this one as it's in Buzanada and is totally child-friendly as it's outdoors or in small cabin-like rooms spread around the "finca". There's a small play area and lots of room to run around.
Or if you want something more inland, Michealangelo's in Las Americas, opposite the Columbus hotel is a nice Italian restaurant. I have also heard people saying Mama Rosa, same road a bit further down is good too.
Rob would recommend Slowboat Chinese, there are various but one in Puerto Colon is where he frequents!
Let us know where you go and what it was like! |

Yes i was going to suggest the Taqueria but it is slighty further out than the area asked lol
It is fantastic though, again cheap food, good quality food, children are ok there....not to busy early evening but does get busy around 9pm when the spanish come in for tapas....always a good sign if the locals eat at a place.... _________________ Find out more at www.myspacetenerife.com

To save my eyes looking at a map where is Guargacho lol sorry.
Do you know any websites that have a map of Tenerife where you pop in a place and it shows you where it is? _________________ Need a cleaner in South Tenerife ? Cleaning just got better... www.maid4tenerife.com

Gargacho is on the road down to Silencio from Las Chafiras.
You come of the TF 1 and it is chafiras end ..not guaza end.
You can get off TF1 at parque de la reina and head along the old road towards chafiras and then right down to silencio....its about 2 mins down there on the right hand side. It has swing saloon doors.
Its very nice inside with sombreos around and mexican music, very good atmosphere. _________________ Find out more at www.myspacetenerife.com

I have printed this post for the future so thanks for all your help.
In the end we went to The Bistro in Cristianos.
Good food and excellent service. Very friendly.
I would highly recommend it.
Thanks again. _________________ Need a cleaner in South Tenerife ? Cleaning just got better... www.maid4tenerife.com

Yeah we were only 16 on our first hols after our GCSE's had finished and also he hadn't asked my Dad! HA ha so I said no. He asked me again about 8 months later but that time it was at the bar in our local pub .... he had however then asked my dad ! _________________ www.secretgardenholistics.com
